2008 National Capital Orienteering Festival

Three events over two days in beautiful Gatineau Park, just north of Ottawa,

 and at Sedbergh School, just north of Montebello. Hosted by the Ottawa Orienteering Club.

Each event will include courses suitable for Novice, Intermediate, and Experienced orienteers -- So come out and join the fun!  Non-COF/USOF members are welcome to sign up in the Open Classes.

Long and Middle distance Events    The F21E (Elite) and M21E courses will be set up to challenge the National Team contenders but they will also be available to eligible COF/USOF competitors.

Sport Ident Timing

Sport Ident (SI) timing will be used for all events and we will have SI cards available for rent or sale at reasonable prices.

Official A-meet sanctioned by the Canadian Orienteering Federation (COF).

Map Information

Samples of the maps will be posted soon. The Sedbergh area was mapped in 2007 and the terrain is similar to the Gatineaus.

Location and Directions

Sedbergh School is 10km North of Montebello. If you have ever skied section 5 of the Canadian Ski Marathon, you will remember their beautiful campus. Allow 75 minutes drive from the east side of Ottawa.

The Gatineau Park competition area will be in the NE sector of the park about 25 minutes drive from the Ottawa river.

Registration

Advance registration is mandatory. Early Bird deadline is April 18th. Final registration deadline is May 9th.

Please register on-line. We have online payment through Paypal which allows secure payment by credit card or from a Paypal account but we will accept cheques in Canadian currency, provided the payment is received by the payment date.

We recommend the Lac Phillipe Campground in Gatineau Park.  It's a 10 minute drive to the day 2 venue and a 90 minute drive to the Day 1 venue.
