"Classic" meets will be point-to-point style with at least 4 courses - beginner, intermediate, short advanced and long advanced - something for everyone. Maximum time frame, 3 hours.

"Championship" meets are more formal competitions with age classes, established course standards and pre-registration but they are still open to and have courses for everyone.

"Summer solstice" meets (in June) are score-o's where each participant finds as many controls as they can within a 1 hour time frame. For more information on this see ss events info

We also run some novel events such as relays. Details will be given specific to these events.

We run rain or shine, but if you have any doubts check this site for last minute changes.

For directions to our various sites - follow the Google map provided or see refer to our map page listing all our map locations. If travelling by bus, bus directions are also provided where possible.

2012 Winter Event Schedule

Our Fall season is over but once the snow comes we look to Ski orienteering. See full details here. We have a meet series of 5 ski-o's. Participate in all and rack up the points.

The Sunday long runs are back so you can maintain your fitness and enjoy organized runs through the woods on Sunday mornings. Watch our home page for notices, or better yet get direct notification via our Yahoo email list.

The Wednesday running training continues with coach Francis Kawam at Frank Ryan Park. See below for details.

We hope you will join us for our Annual General Meeting which is followed with a potluck supper social. This will be held Sunday, January 15 at the Tanglewood Community Centre (map). The AGM starts at 4pm, supper at 6. Don't miss out. There is always scrumptious food and great O talk at these events. Up for discussion at the AGM are topics of interest such as membership and meet fees, new look for Ottawa OC - logo and website, exciting news about money from government, plans for another great major meet in 2014. Not interested in any of this - do join us at 6pm for the potluck dinner - bring your own dishes and cutlery and some good food to share with the group.
