National High Performance Program

As part of our racing programs stream we provide coaching support to club athletes in Orienteering Canada’s High Performance Program (HPP) at local events and training sessions and assistance with training plans, goal setting and more.

The National High Performance Program is Orienteering Canada’s program for athletes competing or aiming to compete on national teams at the junior (under 20) and senior levels at the Junior World Championships, World University Orienteering Championships, World Orienteering Championships, and the World Cup Circuit.

Athletes apply for the program in the late fall (typically for a Nov 30th deadline) and work with local and national High Performance coaches year round. At this level, coaching and programming is entirely personalized. Coaches work with each athlete to help set short, medium, and long term goals as well as an annual training plan to meet those goals.

More information about the HPP can be found at

We will contact those athletes who we think should apply for the HPP and work with them on completing their applications.
